cheers to youth - svt

Ever since before i’ve always hated my youth, i have always wished that i would grow up fast just because being on your youth means people will judge you if you failed to exceed their expectations, people will be disappointed in you if you failed to be the person they thought you would be. That is why i’ve always wanted to be fully adult, but growing up wasn’t always easy. It was never easy. Single mistake and people will doubt you, any of your achievements wouldn’t matter if they saw a tiny bit of flaws in your work. They would ponder with questions if you tell them that you’ve lost the burning passion to do the things you love. They will ask you “Why did you turn out that way? You weren’t like that before.” And you’ll answer them with a “Just because” as if life would end if you failed to be the person they thought you would be. But lately i learned that...

…Life doesn’t end when you failed at one thing you were supposed to be good at. Life doesn’t end when you woke up and find that you’ve lost interest in the things that you were so passionate about. And life doesn’t end if you failed to grow at the same pace as everyone else.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s normal to not know what to do, when to start, and how to continue. It’s your first time living life after all. People grow at their own pace. Each and every path people take are different, some maybe straight, bumpy, and full of ups and downs. Some may have it easy, but most of the time it’s hard. However, that shouldn’t be enough reason for us to stop and give up, no matter how bumpy the road gets we must continue to strive through, life is a never ending journey anyway. But one day you’ll realize that taking the path you chose and growing on your own pace is all worth it, no matter how hard it is and even if it takes a long time, at the end of the day it will all be worth.

It doesn’t matter whether you don’t know everything, it’s your first time facing these things and it’s all right to sometimes feel confuse.

Just because you can’t keep up with someone else’s pace and progress doesn’t mean you’re not on the right track and you’re lost. You simply must keep on growing on your own pace, and without realizing it you’ve already achieve the things you only wished for before.

I hope you’ll be as kind to yourself as you were to other people just because you believe that it’s their first time living. Saying a little “you’ve work hard” to yourself wouldn’t hurt anyone after all, right? Treat yourself a little more gentle, it’s your first time experiencing life too. Note that you are not alone, you were never alone. All of us are experiencing life for the first time, too.

Enjoy your youth, it takes a huge role in building you up as a better adult. Don’t pressure yourself too much to do well all the time, you are living and surviving, and that is all that matters. Every piece of your youth tells the story of how you became the person you are now — a person your little self could be proud of. Life wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t that bad, right? You’ll still find greater things in this suffocating world.

So, the next time life starts treating you a little less gentle remember that...

..You shouldn’t be too hard on yourself, it’s your first time living too.

That’s why let us raise a toast to youth, it plays a major part our life after all. Cheers to youth, cheers to living life!
